Lou Bontempo

Decades of music

Lou Bontempo was born in 1938 in the heart of a hot music scene.  Lou loved music from a very early age as he danced and sang at five years old to the local parade on 31street in Cleveland, Ohio.

In his 20's, seeking his dreams, Lou moved to Los Angeles in the mid 1960's.  There Lou became quickly popular performing flawless covers and playing a talented bass.  However, it was Lou's brilliant song writing and great voice that really excelled his career.  Lou was frequently invited to musical shows that featured his talents along side such great artists as Tina Turner, The Righteous Brothers and others.

Lou is a songwriter, bassist and vocalist in the band 'The Rare Breed', he and his brothers started in the 1970's. Brothers Tom, Joe, and Frank Bontempo. Though retired now the Rare Breed endured through many decades. Rocking and rolling.

Lou has also written for other artist and sold his songs to multi-artists productions. Now, for many years, Lou has lived in Washington State with his beautiful wife, Patricia and his family, still loving and living his music.

Lou's talents include a mastery of the bass across many genres, brilliant songwriting along with musical composition and beautiful piano playing.

Over seven decades Lou Bontempo's music continues to delight. We know his music will go on. For music is eternal.
